It was reported in the BNT 19/04/44 that Thomas was WIA. 19 April 1944 in Italy. It was reported in January of 1945 that he was once again in the front lines after recovering from being wounded in June. Tom had been in service for four years and most of the previous three years, he had been in the front lines. His family was bitterly disappointed that he had not been given leave to return home if for only a short visit. CDN 31/01/45.
Reported to have arrived from overseas duty aboard the Brittanic arriving at Quebec City.
Thomas passed away 17 Dec., 1978 at the age of 66 years.
