George was born in Chatham in 1926 and was the son of the late Thomas Attewell (Alice) and Edith Attewell.
George was married to Ursula (Warren) for 68 yrs. and was married in 1945. They had a son Pat Attewell (Krys) and a daughter Karen Goldhawk (Shufen). They lived at 85 Edgar Street, Chatham, ON.
George was a veteran, serving at Ipperwash. He had retired from Union Gas after 34 years of service, and enjoyed 10 years working at the Builder’s Exchange. George had been a member of Christ Church for many years, as well as a founding member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church.
