Frederick was born in Highclere, (Sheffield) England on February 18, 1904. Frederick’s Father was Daniel Attewell who was born in 1880 and died in 1938. His Mother’ name was Mary Elizabeth Attewell. Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Attewell immigrated to Canada in 1914, with Frederick George, Kathleen Lydia, William Daniel and Thomas. They moved to Blenheim in 1904. Daniel also served in the war. (WW1). Frederick’s wife is Shirley ME Attewell, She was born June 26, 1915 and died August 26, 1986, with interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Frederick and Shirley had three children, William (Bill), Jim and Mike Attewell.
Frederick lived at 99 Edgar Street, Chatham at the time of enlistment on July 29, 1940 and served at Camp Ipperwash. He served in Canada. He was 4 years with the with the Kent Regiment Infantry and Machine Gun (MG). His Date of Discharge was April 2, 1941. Frederick’s date of death was April 3, 1985 with interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
