Attestation: 8/11/1915 at Camp Hughes, Manitoba to 9th CMR.  Vaccinated – Yes. At Camp Hughes.

William Arv. in England. 13/12/15 – 13/07/16 he Taken on Strength 19/07/17 MGRD (Machine Gun.). In 4/09/18 marriage is taken on married Strength. Mrs. W.J. Atkinson of Maltreln Road, Cuckney, Mansfield, Notts, UK. 25/0918.  

Discharged: 9th C.M. R. at Camp Hughes, Man. 8/11/1915.  Medical Board – 1st Can. –Machine Gun 27.  

Served in France with the 9th CMR – Age 30 yrs.  Went to France 26/06/16. Reported ill December 1916 with pains in back and legs. Reported ill December 1916 with pains in back and legs. Sent to various hospitals in France hence to 3rd London Gen. Hospital , then to Bromley and Buxton.

On admission William complained of pains in his back  and legs. Hallux Valgus in both feet. Bending movement was somewhat limited. ( William was up to 152 # from his 135 #) bending. He was treated with warm mineral baths – and he improved, Cat- B11.  He had Typhoid in 1917. 11/02/17 was reported William was admitted to 8th Cnd. Fld Amb. To No. 20 Gen. Hosp – Cameers 23/03/17 3rd London PUO 1/04/17 – MYALGIA to 3rd London General OSP. – Wandsworth 1/04/17 – 11/05/17 for Myalgia Bromley, Kent.  

Myalgia – Can. Red Cross  – Special Hospital – Buxton, Derbyshire – with MYALGIA. 16/05/17 to 6/07/17.

1/07/19 – William was at Buxton for returning to Canada – Aboard the S. S. Scandinavian – Embarked from Liverpool 10/10/19 and Debarked at Quebec. 

Date of Discharge :22/10/1919 . Demob – Routin Order 1420- 18/10/1 

Deceased 8/05/60.
