Private John Ash left Canada for overseas September 29th, 1914, and after training at Salisbury Plains crossed to France February 8th, 1915, with the 1st. Battalion. At Givenchy June 15th, he was wounded in the left leg, received treatment in England, and there transferred to the C.A.M.C. with the rank of Corporal.
