Sapper LLoyd R. Arnold went overseas with the Canadian Engineers October 1st, 1916, serving for nearly a year in a Recording office, Crowborough, and later as cook in the Officer`s mess. He was admitted to Eastbourne Hospital due to ill health caused from his eyes and feet, and upon recovery was given duties of escorting prisoners to the hospital. he resumed training at Seaford.
