The son of Mrs. Florence Appel of Merlin, ON. The Merlin Standard 2/01/41 reported that L/Cpl. Appel was stationed at Camp Petawawa. The brother of Pte. Edward Appel. He was home on a Christmas leave.
Lloyd was home again while still training at Petawawa. He had a five day leave, MS 27/02/41.
The MS (date unknown) reported that Lieut. Appel was serving in Italy. The Merlin Standard (1944), reported that Lieut. Appel has been wounded in action while in Italy. The nature and extent of his wound had not been disclosed.
The CDN 4/09/1946 reported that Lloyd married Betty Marie (nee Dawson).
