Private George Andaer left Quebec in March, 1916 with the 33rd Battalion and went to France in a draft for the 4th.C.M.R. He was wounded September 30th, 1916, in the leg and left arm, and after special hospital treatment returned to Canada by the Araquaya, arriving at Halifax June 23rd, 1917.
