Born in 1912 at Glen Myer, ON. The son of David and Jessie (nee Wamsley) Alward; the brother of Harry, Frank, and Nellie. The husband of Elisabeth (nee Anosky) the step-father of Gail (Bokor), Nancey (Drennan), Bobbie (Dawson), and Sharron (Schambil).

Arthur served in the RCNVR during the war.

Arthur worked at the Ontario Steel Plant in Chatham, ON. Arthur passed away 20/06/1978 at the Public General Hospital in Chatham in his 66th year. He was living in Cedar Springs at the time of his death. His interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim. BNT28/06/78.
