A single farmer living at his father’s farm. MSA 768100 AC. Attestation: February 24, 1916 in Chatham, Ontario with the 1st Battalion WOR. Age: 30 years.

Before these events he was discharged from service for being absent upon new enlistment.
He arrived in England on May 24, 1918, then taken on strength from Canada at Seaford, England.
September 7, 1918 He was struck off to the CEF, and on October 5, 1918 He was taken on to the 2nd Battalion in the field in Seaford, England.
On February 4, 1919 He was directed to forfeit 7 days’ pay for having been absent from parade in the field, but his absence was not documented so it is unclear how many days he was absent. It is presumed that he was missing in action for approximately 7 days.
On March 28, 1919, he was taken on from the 2nd to the CE upon his return to Bramshott.
On May 7, 1919, he was struck off the CEF upon his return to Canada.
