The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin H. and Myrtle Adkin of Dresden, ON. (US Forces). The sister of Lorne C. RCR and Kenneth J. Provost Corp., and Bruce A. Adkin.

 The DT 6/05/43 reported that Lieut. Adkin was leaving Chicago to celebrate Mother’s Day with her parents. The DT 13/05/43 reported that Lieut. Adkin was on a week leave at her parents.  The CDN12/06/43(P) reported, that Lieut. Adkin was leaving Dresden for Bowmanfield. Kentucky in Flight Training.

The CDN 13/01/45 reported that she had received her nurses training at the Chatham Public Hospital in 1940. She had been nursing in the US Army for two years.

Maryon Adkin, now Maryon Koranda, after graduation from Dresden Continuation School, completed nurses training and graduation from Public General Hospital, Chatham. She took post graduate training in Chicago, and enlisted in that city in the United States Army, with immediate rank of Lieutenant.

The DT 6/05/43 reported that Lieut. Adkin was leaving Chicago to celebrate Mother’s Day with her parents. The DT 13/05/43 reported that Lieut. Adkin was on a week leave at her parents.

The CDN 11/02/44 reported that Maryon married – married sur. name Koranda.

Discharged May 24th, 1944.
