He was reported to a Medical Board which identified a Goitre and Otitis Medes. His medical history reported he had trouble swallowing, had pain in his eyes after reading for 20 minutes of reading [reported 20/10 right eye and 30/20 left eye]. He reported he had a discharge from his right ear – and confirmed discharge was evident.
Gordon ranked as a private for the 1st Battalion, Canadian Garrison Regiment (WOR). He was then struck off to No. 42 Para E. Park on 7/06/18. This is the date of the Battle of Belleau Wood. On 27 August, 1918 he was struck off strength again to the 1st.,battalion, but this time it was a transfer to the reserves.
Gordon S. Adams was discharged from the Army 11/12/1918. He did not serve overseas.
