Regimental number: 880779 Reference: RG 150, Volume 08 – 6, Item: 203, PDF:- V00008-5006. Date of Birth: 13/04/1893 at Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. The son of Edwin Abbott of Woodnoneote, Westbourne, Essex, R Married to Florence Kate, they were living at 156 Edgar St., Chatham, ON. A checker. No previous military service.  Attestation: 15/05/1916 at Chatham, ON. to 186th Bn.

Age: 33 yrs. 1 mth., Height: 5’ 10”, Girth: 36”, Complexion: Fresh, Eyes: Brown, Hair: Dark Brown, Weight: 145#. Vaccination: last 7 years.  Medical Exam: 15/05/16 “Fit”. John had scars over the Loccyx, Scar over the accirital bone, scars on thumb (tips) a scar on the lobe of his right ear.

Children 1 Boy (Edward John) 6 yrs.  and 2 girls. (Kate Sybina 10 yrs and Ida Cloy 8 yrs.) his Mother – Jane Abbott. 

John came down with Rheamation at Camp Borden 26/08/16. Base hospital – Toronto 26/08/16 to 23/09/16 – “Greatly Improved”.  Not insured 

TOS 15/05/16 – 15 May to October – Discharged M.M. – Unit Sailed 28/05/17. John was not on the ship departing. He was admitted to Kapuskasing Hospital 26/08/16.Discharged from duty 23/09/16
