Promoted from Lance Bombardier to Bombardier, then transferred to Paratroopers. Promoted to Lance Corporal and transferred to Army, and then reverted back to Private. He went overseas for one year. Harry received the C.V.S.M. and Clasp, the 1939 to 1945 Star, and the France, Belgium and Germany Star.

The CDN 30/12/43 reported that Cpl. Brown was on active service on the west coast.  

The CDN 16/05/44 reported that Harry and his wife, the former Grace (nee Roberts) of Calgary, were the guests at the Prince Edward Hotel. The couple arrived in Chatham after he had been presented with his Para wings and then went on furlough. His parents were living at 84 Cross St., Chatham. 

The CDN 16/09/44 reported that L/Cpl. Harry L Brown, a member of the 1st CDN Paras, was serving overseas. He had trained at Shiloh Camp in Manitoba before going overseas.  

He was reported to have arrived from overseas duty aboard the transport S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam, arriving at Halifax, NS. CDN 29/09/45. Returned CDN 3/10/45.

Discharged November 15th, 1945.
