Private Thomas Warner went overseas in December 1916, and after three months training at Bramshott proceeded to France March 17th, 1917, drafted to the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Railway Troops. In October 1917, he was blown up by a shell and hurt inwardly, but after eight weeks in the 26th General Hospital, France, returned to duty. He received promotion to the rank of Lance Corporal shortly after going to France, and to Corporal in October 1918.
