Born 25/02/1922 at Chatham, ON.  His home address was 181 Richmond St., Chatham.  Husband of Margaret Tewkesbury.

He enlisted with the RCAF in London, ON. His home address at enlistment was Inshes Avenue, Chatham.  He received his Pilots Wings at RCAF Trenton, ON. After graduation he served at many RCAF stations in Quebec, Mont Jolie. Jack was injured in a training accident so he did not go overseas. He was flying as a aircraft Captain with Quebec Air but still under the RCAF until the end of the war.

In November 1942 Jack spent a week-end leave with his wife and son Dale at their Inshes Avenue home returning to Hamilton on Sunday. CDN 25/11/42

The CDN 12/02/44 reported Sgt. J. D. Tewkesbury received his “Wings” from Group Capt. Dave Harding A.F.C. at the ceremony held at No. 16 S.F.T.S. Hagersville.
