James Marshall Taylor – W / 85th Bn. FRANCE.  was attached to 13th Cdn. Mounted Rifles in 1915. 17/06/15 – 31/05/16 and other a couple AWL one of three days he was not a bad soldier.

Gen. Hosp. – Northumberland – Newcastle 5/05/17 GSW – Thigh. Arv. FRANCE 18/08/18 – GSW Lt Leg 8/10/18 wounded to Hosp. per H/S Duches of Argyll.    

 26/01/18 Ceases to be attached, 2nd C.C.D. on return to 21st Res. 13th CMR. Arv. on the Halifax Empress of Britain 25/02/19. 17/02/19 – TOS. No.1 Ont 28/02/19 – Posted and granted furlough 15/03/19. Discharge from HMS – Medically Unfit 19/03/19. Injury to Left Leg and injury to his Right Hand. 19/05/19 at London, ON.  Tos – Kinmal Park embarked for Canada. Sailed 17/02/19 Arv 25/02/19 aboard the Empress of Britain. 10/07/19 Transfer to Canada — St. Luke’s War Hospital.   

A Medical Board reviewed the injury to James Taylor: Age 33yrs, His Right Hand was injured by “Shrapnel” with the loss of his Right Thumb to England. In hospital 28/09/18 to 12/12/18. The ‘Board’ discharged fit for service aboard not for General Service – Not General Service – Struck off Strength – 17/02/1919.  

To 13th CMR reported wounded, GSW to left thigh during the attack on Vimy Ridge. 

In January it was reported that “Marsh” was an instructor at the Bramshot Camp in England. His brother Joseph E. was also in the camp recovering from a bout of trench fever.
