Pte. Symes while in 1st Construction Bn. AWL for June and July AWL 24/06/16. “Deserter”.

Pte. Symes was hospitalized 12/08/16 at Kapuskasing Hospital for Otitis Media and was Discharged 19/08/16 

He embarked at Halifax 27/09/16 and disembarked at Liverpool, England 6/10/16.

Pte. Symes died due to an automobile accident. He was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital – Folkestone 27/11/16 a result of a motorcar accident at the Training Depot. TOS, CASC – Shorncliffe 6/10/16. “Having died in Moore Barracks as a result of an accident is SOS.

Mrs. Elizabeth Symes received the Memorial Cross 23/02/21. Richard, his father received the Memorial Plaque 2/06/21 and the Memorial Scroll 5/10/22. Mrs. Elizabeth Symes also received his WILL.
