Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown).

In June of 1942 Lieut. and Mrs. Switzer (the former Nancy Smith, daughter of Col. Neil Smith of Chatham) who had been at Brockville where Frank was taking Officer Training courses for the past three months had returned to Chatham to spend some time with Dr. and Mrs. Neil Smith, her parents at their home on King St. West, Chatham. They will move on to Camp Borden where he will finish his course. Prior to his enlistment he and his wife  had a home in Wallaceburg.  

In July of 1942 Mrs Switzer spent the weekend in Toronto with her husband Lieut. Switzer who was stationed at Camp Borden, ON. CDN 29/06/42

In August Lieut. Switzer was training at Camp Bordon where Frank received his commission and his wife, the daughter of Dr. And Mrs. Neil Smith were visiting her parents at Erie Beach. CDN 12/08 It was reported in the CDN 9/09/42 that Lieut. Switzer had been posted to No. 12 BTC. Formerly from Wallaceburg he had been at Brockville and Camp Borden taking Officers Training.  In December of 1942 Lieut. Switzer had been at Long Branch where he had been taking a few weeks course. CDN 30/12/42.

The CDN 29/06/43(P) reported that Lieut. Switzer had arrived overseas cable to his wife Nancy (nee Smith). Lieut. Switzer went overseas as a replacement officer.   

The CDN 1/06/44 reported that Lieut. Switzer then serving in Italy with the Perth Regt. was slightly wounded 27/05/44 and was reported in hospital. The ‘Perths’ have been in the thick of the fighting in the Liri Valley of Italy. It was assumed that the Lieut. was wounded in this engagement. 

The CDN 21/08/44 had arrived in Chatham after returning from overseas aboard the hospital ship Lady Nelson.
