Daughter of Leslie and Myrtle (Orr) CDP 18/05/1922.  In August of 1944 Betty, then stationed in Galt, ON. at that time she had been a WREN for only a month. CDN 15/08/44  She was on a weekends leave to visit her family at Erieau. CDN 22/08/44.  The CDN 28/10/44 reported that Wren Stokes was arriving from Sydney NS. to attend the funeral of her grandfather the late Henry Stokes.

Her father Lester served in the 116th Bn. during the Great War and was the youngest member of the CEF to win the Military Medal at the age of 16. Betty served in the WRENS stationed in Sydney, Nova Scotia where she met her husband William ‘Bill’ Frederick Wilson of Toronto. CDN25/04/49. After the war she and Bill raised five children.

Margaret was reported having passed away in the BNT 7/12/11, CCI-RH, StAUC-RH.
