A former “Tilbury boy” he was reported to have enlisted in the RCAF in April, 1941 and was stationed at St. John, NB. TT 17/04/41.
The Merlin Standard 20/03/41 reported that Edward was home on a week-end leave from RCAF-Picton. The WS 28/08/41 reported that Ed was home on a week-end leave,

The MS 2/04/41 reported that Edward had been transferred to RCAF St. John. NB. ‘Ed’ was stationed at RCAF-Montreal when he was returning after some time at home. MS 28/08/44.
