The son of Mrs. Henry Stenton of Charring Cross. Herberts first station was the Toronto Manning Pool. It was reported that Herbert was returning to the RCAF – Toronto Manning Pool after being at home for Christmas. CDN 31/12/42.

The CDN 13/10/43 reported he was stationed at Claresholm AB. and was on a two week furlough to visit his mother.
