Son of Challis Bennett Sheldrick and Ida Emily. (nee Clements) Sheldrick, of 7 Elwood Ave., Chatham, ON., brother of Janet, George Ivan (J12051) and Marilyn Alice (RCAF) of Chatham, Ontario, Canada. Married Anne Proskurniak, the only daughter of Mrs. Barbara Proskurniak, 658 Pritchard Ave., Winnipeg, they were married at Grace United Church in Winnipeg, MB.

Max was stationed at Shilo, Manitoba at the time, after the wedding they honeymooned in the east expected to visit Lieut. Sheldrick’s parents in Chatham.

Stationed at no. 10 basic Training Centre, Kitchener in December 1942. He had recently transferred to the Highland light infantry stationed at Galt, ON. he was on leave for a few days before leaving to take an officers training Course at Brockville, ON. CDN 12/12/42

The CDN 18/05/43 reported that Lieut. Sheldrick then at Brockville was on a few days leave to be at his parents home. On the Sunday that week his parents had guests at their home before Max had to return to Brockville.

The CDN 27/05/44 reported that Lieut. Sheldrick was spending a few days away from Shiloh, MB. with his parents.

Max was stationed at Shilo, Manitoba.  After the wedding they honeymooned in the east and they expected to visit Lieut. Sheldrick’s parents in Chatham. CDN 9/12/44. Max was then transferred to the Maritimes for extra training in demolitions. Before his course was finished the war was over.

The CDN 9/01/45 reported that Lieut. A. Maxwell Sheldrick wed Miss Anne Prosk, the only daughter of Mrs. Barbara Prosk of 658 Pritchard Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. The reception was held at the Fort Garry Hotel. The couple went east to visit with the groom’s parents 

Max was then transferred to the Maritimes for extra training in demolitions. Before his course was finished the war was over.

After the war he returned to Chatham as the accountant of the Royal Bank. He became a branch manager through transfers to Oshawa, Toronto, Orillia and Brantford, where he died on 12 January, 1972. He is buried in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. He and Anne three sons: Peter Glen, Michael and John Blake.
