The son of Gordon and Dora Shaw of St. Clair St., Chatham. It was reported in the CDN 24/07/42 that Spr, Shaw had arrived safely in England.

Trained at Kitchener and Petawawa. Went overseas and served in England, Italy, France and Germany, and was in action at Caen.  The CDN 7/12/45(P) reported that Spr. James W. Shaw was returning home.
