Son of Mr. and Mrs.Shelby Shaw of 76 Wilson Ave of Chatham. Formerly on the staff of the Chatham Daily News.He attended Queen Mary Public School. Formerly on the staff of the Chatham Daily News. Pte Shaw enlisted in June of 1940 and was overseas in 1941.   He was training at Stratford, ON.

Pte. J. C. Shaw of 76 Wilson Ave., Chatham was reported to be returning from overseas in the CDN 29/12/44 after three and a half years overseas. He had seen in Sicily and later on the Adriatic coast.

According to an unidentified news article, he married Annie (nee Brydon) while in England, a Scottish lass from Edinborough. His ‘war bride’ was expected to arrive in Chatham with their daughter Helen age one year seven months.
