Son of Ralph L. and Lottie Ritchie, of Chatham, Ontario, Canada; sister of James Leigh and Maxwell. Served in England.

Harriet enlisted in May of 1943 in the US Army Nurse Corps for immediate overseas duty. She had been serving in France since the D-Day landing. In December of 1944 she was stationed in Belgium. CDN 30/12/44
