The son of Alfred and Annie (nee Brown). The brother of Herman and a sister Beatrice (nee Adams), a brother John H. also served in WWII.

Married to Emma Simard (deceased). His children include Daniel, Marilyn (Ouellette), David, Dennis (deceased), Brian. 

After the war he worked for thirty years at the Ford Motor Company, in the foundry. He retired and passed away in 1982 in Windsor at the Heavenly Rest home in Windsor. 

He never wanted to talk about the war. He died of a heart attack along with Parkinson’s.
