Of Blenheim, ON. Married to Nellie (nee Warwick) of Blenheim. Major Peterson received his DSO for capturing the Lieut. General Mennel during fighting in Holland. He received Field Marshall Montgomery’s certificates of merit and gallantry.  Prior to the Major being wounded on 12 October, 1944 he sent a number of souvenirs including a German Iron Cross-1st Class which was worn by General Mennel, his wife wears it as a necklace. CDN 1/11/44(P).   The Major was wounded twice and as a result he had been repatriated to Canada for medical treatment after being treated at Crumlin hospital in London he was moved to Westminister after his retirement from active service. CDN 1/10/45 (P).

The CDN 17/03/45 reported that Major Peterson was stationed in England handling reinforcement units.
