The eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Peever of Chatham, ON. William married Margret Eva (nee Hollis) of Chatham at the Salvation Army Citadel in May of 1942, at that time William had been stationed on the east coast with his Battery. CDN 23/05/42

Gunner Peever served overseas for fourteen months in Great Britain and North Western Europe. He received the France and Germany Star.

He was attached to the Second Heavy Anti Air Craft Regiment.

Reported to be returning from oversea duty aboard the S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam, CDN 26/09/45.
