The son of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Nicholson (a veteran of WWI and WWII) of 60 Park Ave., West, Chatham, ON.

Edwin enlisted in the RCAF in February of 1940 and received his call to service in July of 1941. [there is a small photo of Edwin at No. 4 Manning Depot -filed The article in the CDN 25/04/42 was to congratulate Edwin for turning twenty one years old on April the 22nd while continuing his train at a RCAF station. 

Trained in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. Served in the Yukon and Alberta. Promoted to Corporal.

Date of Discharge: September 22nd 1945

It was reported in the CDN 24/12/44 that Cpl. Edwin Charles Nicholson, the son of WO2 Franklin C. Nicholson, married Dorothy Lila (nee Merritt) the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allon Merritt at her home. Cpl. and Mrs. Nicholson resided in Calgary where Edwin would take up his duties with the RCAF.
