Pte. John T. Montague was transferred from the 91st to the 186th Battalion in March 1916, and again transferred to the 1st Depot Battalion when the 186th Battalion left for overseas.

Pte. John T. Montague received his honorable discharge December 17th, 1917, being medically unfit for military service.
