Dear Tilbury Friends,

Many thanks for your very kind parcel which arrived last night and was appreciated very much by myself and comrades, and glad to say you sent the very thing I need the worst… that is socks. They were fine.

Well friends, we are all out at rest right now and I guess before long the spring operations will open and then Fritzie will get all that’s coming to him. I feel quite confident that I will be able to do full justice to our common enemy; for it makes me feel very proud indeed to know that while we are doing our duty here our dear Canadian friends at home are thinking of us. We shall never be able to do enough for your kindnesses.

Thanking you once again, once more fr your welcome parcel and also hoping to see the war over soon and be back once more among my old Tilbury friends.

I remain, yours truly,

Pte. Harry McIntyre
