Born 3 January, 1925.  Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown). Under aged enlistment.

He enlisted with the RCAF but “after doing nothing but dishes”, he asked for and was granted a transfer to the Army, enlisting with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada as a Private H23472. He served overseas in Holland and Germany.

By the end of September, 1945 the “Camerons” returned to England and on 13/11/1945 they embarked on the RMS Queen Elizabeth for Canada. Discharged in Winnipeg, Manitoba, 17 July, 1944.

Married to Ann 14 August, 1948. The father of Caroline. He was employed at the Sunnen Co. in Chatham as a painter after the war.  The father of Jean, Jane, Caroline and Nicole.

After returning from overseas he worked at Sunnen Products where he retired. With spare time he was well known for hid woodwork.

The CDN 30/09/17 that John Henry ‘Jack’ the husband of the late Anne (nee Davidson) passed away 28/09/17. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
