The son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Maw of Ridgetown, ON. A graduate of Ridgetown High School in the spring of 1944.

Murray enlisted 9 May, 1944. He spent 10 weeks in the National Research Laboratory in Ottawa. Then was transferred to BTC No. 12 in Chatham, ON. then to Ipperwash and Debert NS.

He was reported going overseas in early January in 1945. CDN 3/03/4
