A letter from “Wally” to his friend Len appeared in the in the BNT 6/06/1945 “Wally Martin Getting Around” as follows:

Dear Leonard,

Just a few lines thanking you for the papers which I have been receiving for the past few weeks. It is sure swell to be able to read the home news and since they started coming they usually arrive at the end of every week, so now I sure look forward to getting them.

Just at the present time I am fine and in hopes that these few words find you the same.

There is one thing about the Army leonard, a person sure gets around. I have seen some of France, Belgium, Holland and now in Germany. Next I hope is Canada.

Well Len I guess I will close for now. Two letters in one evening is a big days work for me. Thanking you again for the papers.
