Private Thos J Martin enlisted at Chatham in 33rd Batt Jan 18th 1915 and after training in Canada he embarked for England Aug 8th 1915 and transferred to 9th Reserve Batt and trained with that unit until Jan 5th 1916 when he embarked for France and was transferred to 21st Batt.
