Regimental number: 880504. Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Item: 540992, PDF: B5773-S012. Date of Birth: 20/02/1896 at Wheatley, Romney Twsp., Kent Co., ON. The brother of Leo, Idella and Agnes. The son of Mrs. Thomas Couller of Wheatley. Prior to his enlistment he was a student, single and 20 years old.

Cyrus enlisted at Chatham, ON. 18/03/1916 with the 186th Batt. He took a course in Signalling at London, ON. He went overseas with the 186th Batt departing 26/03/17 aboard the S.S. Lapland which arrived in England 7/04/17. He arrived in France 1/01/18. Overseas to France with the 1st Batt. CEF 3/01/18 He functioned as a Signaller from 2/01/18 until the summer of 1918 when he suffered a GSW to the right arm 9/09/18.

Cyrus was admitted to no.2 General Hospital  at Estaples, in Manchester 3/09/18. He was invalided “ Wounded” and posted to the WOR Dept at Witley. 16/09/18 he was TOS from the 1st Batt. Transferred to Woodcote Hospital in Epson 8/01/19. He was finally discharged from hospital 20/01/19 

His “Discharge Certificate” from the CEF was dated 1/04/19. Transferred to Kimmel Park in the Medical Wing 3/03/19 awaiting passage home to Canada.

Cyrus Sailed aboard the S. S. Regina from Liverpool  22/03/19. He proceeded from Halifax to be Demobilized. His wound had head and he was discharge Category A2. He had spent eight months in France.
