Attestation: 15/09/1914 at Valcartier, PQ to 1st Bn. Age 19 yrs. Height: 5’ 8 ¼”, Girth: 37 ½ “, Complexion: Swarthy, Eyes: Brown, Hair: Black. Medical: 31/08/14 – “Fit”. a Valcartier, PQ.

He went overseas aboard the S.S. Laurentic 4/10/14. 

Arrived in France 12/12/15 after 9 day leave in England. 16/12/15. Rejoined his unit after his leave.

Arnold had two days of Field Punishment (FP).

A brother – Willis of St. Thomas was advised that his brother was KIA 26/04/15. Prior to enlisting he was a fireman on the Pere Marquette Railway. He was the first to enlist from St. Thomas and went overseas with the 1st Contingent. He was attached to the machine gun section with the Canadians at Langmark. He was wounded on 9 June but was back on the firing line in a few weeks. Relatives had received a letter from him dated April 18 at that time he was well. A member of the St. Thomas Rifle Assoc. and a crack shot. He was also a member of the 25th Regt.

Pte. Logan was a full-blooded Indian. At the time of his enlisting declared by the examining medical officer to be the most perfect specimen of manhood that he had ever seen.

His father resided at Middleniss. He was 21 yrs. old and a man of considerable education, a graduate of the Moant-Elgin School.  

His likeness is atop of the Logan Memorial at Lower – Muncey (St. Pauls) ON.
