Born in Houtenies, Zeeland, Holland, Date of birth: 2/01/1922.  Son of Norbutus and Angeline (nee Herreweyers) Lauwereys, brother of Joseph, Dona, Rene, Peter, George, Dorthy (Mahu), Theodore and Mary (Van Neyendan). The husband of Dorothy P. (nee Wilson) Lauwereys, of Wallace St., Wallaceburg, Ontario. Prior to enlisting Albert worked at the Schultz Die Casting Co., in Wallaceburg.

Albert enlisted with the Royal Canadian Regt. in London, ON. He trained in London, Camp Borden and Kitchener, ON. and Halifax, NS. He departed for overseas 18/12/1942.  

Albert was wounded in the attack on Ortona on the 9th of December, fatally wounded. he succumbed to his injuries on the 12th of Dec. 9,1943.  

Age: 20, DOW – Date of Death: 12/12/1943, in Italy. Age: 21 years

Cemetery: MORO RIVER CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY.
