Son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph LaRocque of Thamesville. The brother of Yvonne W1114 (Army). In April of 1942 Joe stationed in London, ON.  and his sister stationed in Kitchener were weekend visitors at their parents home. CDN 6/04/42.

Joseph went overseas in 1942. Prior to enlisting he was a student at St. Peters Seminary, London, ON. Cpl. LaRocque was Mentioned in Dispatches (MiD) for “conspicuous work as a radio technician”, He has been attached to the RAF. Reported to be returning to Canada from overseas duty aboard the S. S. Scythia expect to arrive at Quebec City 17 Sept. 1945, he arrived at home in Thamesville on the 21st
