The son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lapointe of Dawn Twsp, Kent Co., ON. His father was residing in Dresden, ON. He was the  brother of Mrs. Harold Ansel of Sombra and Mrs. Jack Turner of Corunna. John was awarded the Military Medal  in November 1944, as a result of “courage and bravery in Normandy”. Rifleman Lapointe had enlisted in a Regina regiment. DT 31/08/44.

Discharged November 8th, 1945.
