Morley enlisted as a Private with the 2nd CBRG and trained for nine months in Canada before going overseas. He transferred from the Infantry to the Royal Canadian Engineers as a Sapper serving in Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was discharged from the army 19/03/1946.
