Date of Birth: March 1, 1922. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Houston of Harwich, Twsp., Kent Co., ON. Micheal was living in Ridgetown when he enlisted 3/09/42. Married to Adeline Edna (nee Molson) in Kingston, ON. on November 6, 1943 CDN13/11/43, he was stationed at Petawawa at the time of his marriage. They were married 65 years. It was reported in the CDN 4/01/44 that Spr. Houston and his wife were at his parents home in Harwich Twsp., to spend a furlough from Camp Petawawa. The father of Michael Brian, Colleen (Redmond) and Cheryl.
Micheal served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during the war. Michael’s daughter writes: “He spent part of his time in the military at Nova Scotia. His choice would have been to serve with the Air Force and he spent some time at Trenton, Ontario where because of his eyesight was declined for service. He was underage, but was later called to service.”
Micheal passed away Tuesday, 7 April, 2009 at the Village in Ridgetown at the age of 87 years. CDN-Obit.
