The WN 26/06/41 reported Ian and his wife (nee M. Heas) also from Wallaceburg, had returned to Wallaceburg after their wedding trip. Ian would leave for his RCAF training station at Brandon, MB.

The Wallaceburg News 4/05/44 reported that Ian had completed his course as navigator and had received his ‘Wings’ at No.6 Port Albert, SK. He returned to visit his uncle in Detroit and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Stewart of Dufferin Ave., Wallaceburg.
