Born 28/08 in 1910 or 1913 or 1914 in Merlin or Glenwood? The son of Joseph Randolph and Minnie Pearl (nee Ellis) Haskell. The brother of Violet May, Frederick Nelson, Everett Mervin, Idella, Ross Robert and Millie. The Merlin Standard 30/10/41 reported that Pte. Haskell was in Chatham to spend a Sunday with his parents.

The MS (date unknown) reported that Pte. Elgin F. Haskell had arrived in Italy 

The Merlin Standard (1944 date unknown) reported that he was serving in the Perth Regt in Italy and had been WIA. He reported that his left arm had been broken in four places, but he was “getting along fine’. He hoped to be out of hospital soon.   

Elgin married Agnes Jane (nee Stevenson) and they had two children Donna (Barclay) and Allen.

Passed away 12 April,1974 at the age of 64 years.
