It was reported in the CDN 2/02/1942 that Ira was on leave from the Kents then at Niagara-on-the-Lake to spend the weekend in Chatham with Mrs. Hamilton, living at the Kent Manor on Wellington St. W. The CDN 7/09/42 reported that Ira was returning to New Westminister, BC after a furlough with Mrs. Hamilton.  

Spr. Hamilton serving with the RCE was reported returning to the West Coast after spending a furlough with his wife at the Kent Manor. CDN 1/09/43 The CDN 29/12/43 reported that Spr. Hamilton had spent a Christmas furlough with his wife at the Kent Manor.    

Spr. Hamilton spent a Christmas furlough with his wife at their Wellington St. West, Chatham home. CDN 23/12/44.
