Of Wallaceburg. Son of Mrs. Donald D. Gordon of Montreal, PQ. and brother of Captain Donald Gordon also of Wallaceburg.

John enlisted in the RCAF in 1941. “In 1942 he was one of three Canadians”, assigned to the RAF squadron, “that saw considerable service in Yugoslavia and other Balkan countries as train-busters. He also did similar service in Italy.

 Reported to be sailing on the troop ship “Duchess of Richmond”, expected to arrive at Quebec City on or about the 19th of August, 1945. From there he will proceed to No. 1 Repatriation Depot in Lachine to receive leave. CDN 15/08/45 / 18/08/45.   

Discharged from the RCAF, John Aaron married Lillian Christina (nee McKibbin at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Wallaceburg 11 December.
