Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ovilla. Goodreau of Erieau, ON.  Married to Helen (nee Eden) who was living at 143 King St. West, Chatham, ON.

Prior to his enlistment he was working in Windsor, ON. and at the Canada Bread Company in Chatham.

Philip enlisted in March of 1943 and went overseas in December of that year. 

First wounded by shell fragments on the 24 December,1944, the shrapnel injured both of his thighs, recovered from his wounds he was back with his unit in January 1945.

Philip was  reported wounded in action a second time in March of 1945, while serving with the Canadian army in Germany, the nature of the extent of the wounds had not been revealed. CDN 7/04/45(P). It was revealed that Philip’s second wound sustained 26 December, was a gun shot to his right shoulder. CDN 23/03/45.
