The son of Mr. William Godfree of 10 Forest St., Chatham, ON, the brother of Kenneth Edwin A102646.   The husband of Marjorie P. (nee Foyle) of Toronto. They live d at 53 Joseph St., Chatham, ON. and had a son Leon.

Jack enlisted 2/05/1941 with the RCAF in Windsor, ON. he trained for three months before going overseas in October 1941,  joining 402 Squadron in England. Jack was reported overseas in the CDN 21/08/42, his brother Kenneth was enlisting in the armed forces that same week.

The CDN 8/12/44 reported that Jack had written to his parents to inform them that he would be home for Christmas 1944.

Cpl. Godfree was reported home on leave in January of 1945 after three years of being overseas. He was discharged from the RCAF in February of 1945. CDN 16/01/45(P), IODE(P), VR(P), CFF-FD44. Jacks wife passed away 1/12/2013 CDN-Obit 2/12/13. (wife)
