It was reported in the CDN 18/07/42 that Lyle was on a week furlough with Miss Peggy Sykes of Ottawa at his parents home in Thamesville. Lyle was reported to have married Dora ‘Peggy’ Margaret (nee Sykes) of Ottawa. The marriage took place in Ottawa and the couple honeymooned in Thamesville with the groom’s parents Mr. and Mrs. A.E.Gillespie.
